
While the Apple II, originally released in 1977, was nearing the end of its life by mid-1988, there were still enough users of this popular computer that Spectrum HoloByte ported its version of Tetris to the platform.
As in Alexey Pajitnov's original version, points are awarded for dropping Tetrimino pieces more quickly, not for clearing lines. The game speed gradually increases as more lines are cleared.
